Jennifer Turner
Workshop II: The Undervaluation of Care Work in Human Services
Dr. Jennifer Turner (She/Her) is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining the team at IWPR, Dr. Turner was an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Hollins University, where she managed the Sociology program and taught courses on a variety of topics, including race, class, and gender, families, and reproductive justice. Her research focuses on advancing equity for student parents (especially single mothers) and her expertise includes intersectional qualitative research design and methodology. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from James Madison University, her master’s degree in Sociology from Old Dominion University, and her PhD in Sociology from Virginia Tech.
