Workshop II: The Undervaluation of Care Work in Human Services

Michelle Jackson (She/Her) has dedicated her career to advocating for human services organizations that do work at the City and State, fighting for these critical organizations that benefit all New Yorkers and which support New York's communities.

As the Executive Director of the Human Services Council of New York, Michelle launched the #JustPay campaign to end government-sanctioned poverty wages and organize the human services sector to push for equity with government partners. The #JustPay campaign has achieved $1 billion in cost-of-living adjustments for human services workers in New York and continues to push for equitable wages for some of the most essential workers in communities.
